July 31st 2009 ‘Kaminey’ gets an ‘A’ certificate from Censor Board
It is a nightmare come true for Vishal Bhardwaj whose ambitious project ‘Kaminey’ has been awarded an ‘A’ certificate by the censor board which means a loss of young crowd which form a considerable percentage of the viewers.
The examining committee reportedly saw the flick on Tuesday afternoon and suggested some major cuts as they felt that the film was just too violent. When Vishal refused to either go for chopping his scenes or accept an ‘A’ certificate, the revising committee with Sharmila Tagore as the Chairperson watched it with a panel of members in Delhi yesterday afternoon. The committee, however, gave an ‘A’ certificate again.

As the film is based on the underworld, violence and darkness is but naturally felt in the movie.

July 29th 2009 Shilpa Shetty seeks blessings on Nag Panchmi
Shilpa Shetty has seen a lot of ups and downs in her life. She has tasted success, stardom, a row of flops, failure in love with Akshay Kumar and many other setbacks in the initial days of her career. Mugdha Godse had won rave reviews for ‘Fahsion’ and she had also won a warm and close friendship with her ‘Fashion’ co-star Priyanka Chopra on the sets of the movie. So, it did not come as a surprise when Priyanka was seen giggling and enjoying her self on Sunday on the celebration of Mugdha’s 27th birthday.

July 22nd 2009 Kareena Kapoor apprehensive about her bare back scene
After giving some steamy scenes in ‘Kambakth Ishq’, Kareena Kapoor has also shot some intimate scenes in director Rensil D’Silva’s film ‘Qurbaan’ where she stars opposite Saif Ali Khan. Apparently, there is one scene in the film where she makes passionate love to Chhote Nawab and has loads of exposing including her bare back. But now, Kareena is apprehensive about the scene as she is nervous what her parents and would be in-laws might think about it. So the actress hopes to bring it up with director Rensil D’Silva and producer Karan Johar before the film’s final print is ready and get it chopped off.

Also, it was in this city that SRK was honored with a doctorate. Now, there is another link of SRK with London. The reigning star of Bollywood has purchased a luxurious apartment worth 20 million pounds in the Park Lane area of Central London.
Everytime SRK visited London with family he had to stay in a hotel. So, he had been planning to buy an apartment here for quite sometime. He and wife Gauri looked at several choices before they zeroed on this particular place, but because of its high price, they took sometime in giving their final nod.
A source says, “It is a known fact that the King Khan likes to visit London every year for vacation with his family. He generally stays in the best of the hotels on his visits there, but for past few months he was eyeing an apartment in London’s plush area for himself, so that he doesn’t have to stay in hotels every time. Finally as he went there this time with his kids, even they liked the place a lot and he there and then decided to lock it forever.”

July 19th 2009 Priyanka Chopra spends a quiet birthday
One of the most sought after Bollywood actress, Priyanka Chopra turned 27 this Saturday but there not no birthday bash for this girl who has always had a quiet birthday with friends and family since the age of 12.
“It’s always been a home celebration. My family brings in surprises for me and I like it that way because I really get worried when it comes to organizing parties,” she laughs.
“I’m not a big party person and I don’t like throwing parties at all. So this time a lot of my family members have decided to fly down to be with me. It’s likely to be a day spent doing nothing in particular - just hanging out with the people who love me and want to be around me to make my day special. That’s all,” she added.
Talking about her birthday resolutions, Piggy Chops said, “I don’t have any specific plan, but hope for peace of mind and well being. This year has been extremely good for me, and I would like to thank God for it.”

Saif Ali Khan has already upset his ‘Love Aaj Kal’ co-star Deepika Padukone by constantly saying that he missed Kareena on the sets. Now, he has taken ‘panga’ again with an actress, this time the sultry Bong beauty, Bipasha Basu, by ousting her out from ‘Race 2’ and roping his sweetheart Kareena Kapoor instead on the pretext of the demand of the script.
Saif has confirmed this news saying, “Abbas Mastaan understand the pulse of the plot. ‘Race’ was a fast-paced action-adventure caper. Not too many filmmakers in Bollywood would’ve done such a wonderful job of it.
“Yes, Kareena will be part of ‘Race 2?. We’re yet to flesh out the details. But ‘Race 2? has to be bigger and larger than ‘Race’. Otherwise no point in making it.”
Apparently, this sequel promises to have tons of action and special effects and Saif took special efforts in convincing producers to rope in Abbas-Mustan again as directors and Kareena instead of Bipasha for the second innings of Race.
While we would love to see stylish Kareena create magic with her beau Saif in ‘Race 2’, we sincerely feel that Saif is going to end up in a soup if he keeps miffing reigning Bollywood beauties in this manner!!

July 14th 2009 The shoot of ‘All The Best’ completed in record time
Ajay Devgan’s ‘All The Best-Fun Begins’ started its shoot on 7th May and the crew has finished the shooting within a record time of about two months in mid July. The film, produced by Ajay Devgan Films and directed by Rohit Shetty is all set for a Diwali release on 16th October 2009.
The movie has been shot in various locales in Mumbai and Goa and their last schedule was in Hyderabad. This is set to be a comedy starring Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu & Mugdha Godse in the lead. The music is by Pritam Chakraborty, lyrics are by Kumar and the film is co-produced by Kumar Mangat.

Shahrukh Khan has a huge fan base not only in India but also along the entire world and this was utterly proved when the actor was awarded with the honorary doctorate from the University of Bedforshire in the field of Arts and Culture.
SRK was there along with wife Gauri in London to accept the doctorate. SRK had once declared that London was his favorite city in the world. Now, that he has this honor, he is thrilled and plans to keep the degree framed in his living room.
At this moment, SRK also mourned the loss of pop star Michael Jackson declaring MJ to be a wonderful human being. He also said that his only connection with western music was through MJ’s work.
Here is what SRK said at the occasion, “My wife is here too. She thinks being a doctor is really serious stuff. Of all my achievements as an actor, this one is a special achievement.”
“I will entertain like Walt Disney where he says I will entertain and help people learn. But if you are asking if I will make films to teach people ABC then I doubt it, you won’t see them. But I will make films that people can go and see for three hours and then come back and study hard for their exams.”
“On one wall, where I have my personal desk, where I keep my scripts, I have the Padmashri, the French honor, the Malaysian honor and this one will also go there. The Filmfare awards are in front of me so I am like a megalomaniac, self-centered person who likes to be surrounded by his awards.”

July 13th 2009 Aishwariya Rai inaugurated L’Oreal’s “Beautiful Beginning Campaign”
Renowned cosmetics and beauty supply company L’Oreal on the occasion of being into the business for 100 years and commemorating the occasion launched its ‘Beautiful Beginnings” campaign with Aide et Action in Khar Danda Village, India. The campaign is undergoing in about 60 countries.
This campaign is for the underprivileged girls who have been dropped out due to financial constraints and be provided with four months training for coloring and styling hair, administering manicures and pedicures, threading, waxing and facials. Girls after training would be promoted to open their salons hence will give them chance to secure their future. Indian Ambassador for L’Oreal Aishwariya Rai inaugurated the program in India. She also mixed up with the girls selected for the training on this occasion.

She has three back-to-back releases this month, Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Kaminey’, Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘What’s Your Rashee?” and Jugal Hansraj’s ‘Pyaar Impossible’. She is playing 12 different roles in ‘What’s Your Rashee?’ (just as Kamal Hassan did in ‘Dashaavataar’ or what Sanjeev Kapoor essayed in ‘Naya Din Nayi Raat’). Not to mention here that this kind of work demanded too much of hard work and dedication from the lady.
As a result, Priaynka’s health has suffered and she has been in and out of hospital quite frequently these days. Her mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra, is supervising her diet these days and she is under strict instructions from her that she should have home-cooked meals. So, Priyanka carries her own food even when she is in five star hotels.

Yes, this is Kareena Kapoor looking just a perfect coy bride displaying the special range of jewelry for a leading group which will be launching two different brands Gitanjali Jewels’ Bridal Collection Jewelry and Multitasking Jewelry for Women with Kareena as the brand ambassador. Kareena here is dolled up under the designs of ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra.

July 5th 2009 Deepika Padukone redefines style in ‘Vogue’
With her forthcoming ‘Love Aaj Kal’ making news all around creating buzz about her fabulous chemistry with Saif Ali Khan in the film, it is just the right time for Deepika Padukone to make appearances in photoshoots, magazine covers and reality shows and this is just what she has been doing.
Deepika Padukone appears as the covergirl of the July issue of Vogue India. The edition also has an exclusive interview with the promising newcomer where he reveals lesser-known facts about herself like how she starts her day with what she calls “a maaaajor breakfast”. “I think it’s a very South Indian thing. I can’t start my day without breakfast. This ’something’ can range from idlis, dosas and upma, to sausages, baked beans on toast and even potato toasties.”
About spending time with Ranbir she says, “We do our own thing because tomorrow, I don’t want to sit and say, ‘I should have done this but I didn’t.’ And, she insists, when Ranbir and her exchange notes on Bollywood, it’s not gossip. “I’ll never put anyone down. It’s definitely not my thing.”

Kambakkht Ishq that is expected to do big as assured by its makers, however, had a star studded press meet attended by celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and no doubt big and tall Akshay Kumar was also at the meet to promote the movie. According to Kareena Kapoor, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is a “power-packed film which is going to rock today and tomorrow”. However in meantime, watch some pictures from the press conference.
July 2nd 2009 Ajay Devgan’s generous gift to Bipasha Basu
How far could a producer go in taking care of the wishes of the leading lady of his film? Well, he could at least gift a new mobile phone. This is exactly what producer Ajay Devgan has done for Bipasha Basu who has just finished shooting for Ajay Devgan’s comedy ‘All The Best’ in Goa this week.
Bipasha had worked really hard with most sincere efforts for Ajay’s film. She not only worked late at night and early in the mornings, she also kept the phone switched off during the shooting thus cutting off from everyone including beau John Abraham who has hurt his legs. Bipasha also agreed to do an additional role in ‘All The Best’ without extra charges. When Ajay came to know that Bips wanted a Blackberry phone, he thought it would be just the right move to show his appreciation for her dedication.
Says the actress, “Yeah, Ajay knew I wanted it. In fact it was he who got me interested in. It is actually a gift in appreciation for working long hours and changing at lightning speed between shots when we had loads of work to finish. Ajay is a fabulous producer and co-star.”
Bipasha is all ga-ga for her new phone and says, “I love it! I’m going totally crazy with it. Though I’ve no numbers on it and am trying to figure it out, I just can’t get enough of it."
