September 30th 2009 Star couples Saif-Kareena & Abhi-Ash brighten up GQ awards ceremony
It was an unbelievable starry evening full of glamour and glitter when hot real-life couples like Saif-Kareena, Abhi-Ash and Amitabh-Jaya walked hand-in-hand and beamed as they grabbed in awards. Talking about the awards ceremony held at Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt Hotel on Sunday for the leading men’s magazine ‘GQ’, the event witnessed celebrities from every field including Bollywood.
Saif and Kareena are not a very common sight at every other event, but with their flick ‘Qurbaan’ set to hit the screens, the couple is being seen in each other’s company quite often these days. The couple clearly stole the limelight as both of them won the GQ man and woman of the year award.
“Saif has won GQ Man of the year and I think he truly deserves it,” said Kareena, to which Saif replied, “For me at the moment Kareena is my Man of the Year.”
On her award, Kareena said, “Being called Woman of the year is a lot different from receiving a film award. It’s a great honor.”
Amitabh Bachchan, who was there with his family, wife, bahu, son and daughter and who received the Lifetime Achievement award said, “Well, now I’ll have to make more space to fit in yet another award.”
Katrina also won the GQ woman of the year award. Once again Katrina was seen sans Salman and was seen posing for the shutterbugs with Karan Johar. Abhay Deol picked up the Breakthrough Talent title.

This year Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra were honored with the youth icons awards from the entertainment field. Following Hrithik Roshan was actor-director Farhan Akhtar and behind Priyanka was Katrina Kaif.

September 29th 2009 Will Julia Roberts dine with Saif and Kareena?
The Pretty Woman star and Oscar winning actress, ‘Julia Roberts’ is at present in India for the shoot of director Ryan Murphy’s film ‘Eat, Love and Pray’ along with co-star Richard Jenkins. The film is being shot in a Haryana village, around eight km from Pataudi which is the royal seat of Saif’s family.
Julia met Saif’s mom Sharmila Tagore in Patuadi and when she came to know that Kareena would be playing her part in the Hindi remake of the Hollywood hit ‘Stepmom’ starring Roberts and Susan Sarandon, she expressed her desire to meet her son Saif and Bebo.

September 29th 2009 Rani Mukherjee & Kajol celebrate Durga Puja
The Bong beauties of Bollywood, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee, celebrated Durga Puja at Balkanji Bari in Santa Cruz West on Thursday. The Puja was organized by the North Bombay Sarbhajanin Durga Puja Charitable Trust and the set was designed by Amit Pal and was graced by a 13-feet tall Durga idol.
The celebrations also included the veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee who said, “This isn’t just a Mukherjee’s puja for celebrities. It’s for the working class. We do our utmost to bring all communities together. I request the new generation to be humble and inclusive of all.”
Debu Mukherjee, secretary of the trust added, “This puja is a gharelu (domestic) puja. Kajol and Rani grew up here. So we don’t think they are celebrities. It’s like a house party for them.”

They appeared together in ‘Omkara’ and ‘Tashan’, but this time the Saifeena couple has created stirs even before their flick ‘Kurbaan’ hits the screen. September 26th 2009 SRK and Kajol: The magical jodi in ‘Vogue’
The magical jodi of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol have given the industry many mage hits like ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ and so on. After a long hitch of seven years the two are coming together for Karan Johar’s ‘My Name Is Khan’ which has Kajol playing SRK’s wife.

September 26th 2009 Priyanka Chopra will now be seen in 7 avataars
Seems multiple roles are in for Priyanka Chopra this season. While she becomes the first ever actress to portray 12 different roles in one flick in ‘Whats Your Rashee?’ she has yet another multiple role film awaiting for her. She, in most probability, will play the roles of 7 brides to seven different men in Vishal Bhardwaj’s next titled ‘7 Husbands’. She will have different get ups for each wife and the seven different actors for the role of husbands are yet to be finalized.
Priyanka has already worked with Vishal in ‘Kaminey’ and the director was so impressed with her dedication and devotion that he, without second thoughts, chose Priyanka as his heroine while scripting for 7 Husbands. Lakme India Fashion Week 2010 saw the most beautiful of all beauties come to life when Deepika Padukone attired nothing less than an angel sashayed down the ramp on the day 4 of the fashion week, as the showstopper for designers Gauri and Nainika. Even the prettiest of angels looked down in jealousy as Deepika romanced with satin and frill in a vintage black-and-white gown in the hazy hues of the ramp.

The producers of the film ‘Whats Your Rashee?’ have sent Priyanka Chopra’s name for the Guinness Book of World Records as with this film she will be the first actress to portray twelve different roles in a film. The film will see her paired with Harman Baweja with whom she had once been romantically involved and with whom her film ‘Love Story 2050’ had bombed at the box office.
What this film does to her career only time can tell but the girl is leaving no stones unturned for the promotion of the film. She was there at the Toronto Film Festival 2009 in Canada to promote her upcoming movie. She looked stunning and very sexy in her black strapless dress which took no efforts in hiding her curves. September 22nd 2009 Priyanka and Harman promote their film on Radio Mirchi
Cancerian Priyanka Chopra and Scorpion Harman Baweja visited the Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM studio to promote their upcoming flick, ‘Whats Your Rashee?’
The fans got to have a interactive session with the stars as the two shared anecdotes about the making of their latest movie with RJ Jeeturaj on Mumbai’s favourite show ‘Hi Mumbai’. They talked about their faith in astrology, their traits and star signs and everything about their rashee. They also praised the music of the film that has been given by composer Sohail Sen. Talking about the film, Priyanka said, “It’s a comedy, all in all, a really funny story of an NRI Gujrati boy who comes to India and must find a bride in 10 days, and how his matrimonial ad receives responses from an astounding 160 girls!”

The red carpet for the World Premiere of Yash Raj Films, ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ was held at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival on the early afternoon of September 13th at the Roy Thompson Hall. Rani Mukherjee was there in a majestic purple gown by Franco Ferrara, with her hair tied half-up. Since the film has a Punjabi background, the event kick started with a live performance by Bhangra troop and Dhol player. Rani was accompanied by the debutant Director Anurag Singh.

If you thought that it was only Sameera Reddy and Minissha Lamba who graced the KFW with their ramp walk, reconsider your thoughts because dazzling this gala event were petite beauty Amrita Rao, Bong bombshell Riya Sen, Neetu Chndra, Nandana Sen and Khiladi Mandira Bedi who sashayed on the ramp. Amrita Rao walked on ramp to display collection of Manish Malhotra accompanied by TV star Ronit Roy and Football star Baichung Bhutia. Riya was the show stopper for designers Kaushik and Pallob during the Day 2 of ‘Kolkata Fashion week II’. Now, Priyanka Chopra does her bit by supporting the ”Save the Children” campaign which aims to provide quality education to eight million children living in conflict-affected areas. The campaign will also work in the area of providing, securing and protecting children’s rights to food, shelter, health care, freedom from violence, abuse and exploitation.
Priyanka has many other associations with social causes and she expressed her hope that the campaign would be able to spread awareness on how education can change the future of young children.
“Save the Children is associated with about 11 states in India. I hope at some point of time to be able to visit at all places where Save the Children works and see for myself how much help I can be of and also in every possible way create awareness about how important education is in our country,” said Priyanka Chopra to the reporters at a press conference to announce her association with Bvlgari Save the Children campaign in Mumbai.

September 12th 2009 Music Launch of ‘Main Aur Mrs. Khanna’
Directed by Prem Soni, ‘Main Aur Mrs. Khanna’ is yet another awaited comedy this year. The film stars Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles. The movie also has Govinda in a special appearance and Preity Zinta in an item number. The music for this emotional and romantic drama has been composed by Sajid -Wajid, who have earlier given hits like ‘mujhse shaadi karogi’, ‘maine pyaar kyun kiya’ and the latest ‘wanted’ with Salman.

It has barely been three months when Mallika Sherawat launched a milkshake named after her. Now Kareena Kapoor follows the same route and has launches an international brand of pizza loaded with cheese layers but ironically called ‘Kareena Kapoor Size-Zero Pizza’. The pizza has toppings of finely diced chicken, red chillies, baby corn and is spiked with onions.
Kareena is obviously happy with this and says, “I love Italian food. I must eat pizza at least twice a week; and yes, I’m flattered that a pizza has been named after me.’’
Talking about cheese, Bebo adds, “It’s a misconception that cheese is unhealthy. My dietician has put me on a cheese diet for the longest time. Cheese has the right fat percentage required for the body and if eaten right, it can be advantageous rather than detrimental.’’

September 7th 2009 Preity Zinta goes ‘happening’ for Prem
Since the time Preity Zinta donned on the cap of a IPL team owner and slipped perfectly into the role of a businesswoman, she has seemed to vanish from the silver screen. However, the lady has finally done a sizzling item number for the forthcoming ‘Main Aur Mrs. Khanna’ for the sake of her special friendship with Salman Khan.
Preity does look really ‘happening’ in the sing which is also titles ‘happening’ for she has slogged real hard to get that ‘happening’ look. She not only followed a special diet but also took up a tough exercise regime and yoga.
However, the flip side of the song is that it looks very much like the ‘Kajra Re’ number done by Aishwarya Rai where Preity is seen making a similar gang of guys sway to her verve. However, the director Prem Soni brushes off this similarity saying, “Unlike Ash, who was just a part of ‘Kajra Re’, Preity plays an important role in the film.”

Preity does look really ‘happening’ in the sing which is also titles ‘happening’ for she has slogged real hard to get that ‘happening’ look. She not only followed a special diet but also took up a tough exercise regime and yoga.
However, the flip side of the song is that it looks very much like the ‘Kajra Re’ number done by Aishwarya Rai where Preity is seen making a similar gang of guys sway to her verve. September 7th 2009 Rani & Priyanka to grace Toronto Film Festival this year
The 34th annual Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) to be held this month from 10th to 19th will see the world premiere of Anurag Singh’s “Dil Bole Hadippa” and Ashutosh Gowariker’s “What’s Your Rashee?”
So, the directors Anurag and Ashutosh along with the stars of the movies Priyanka Chopra, Lisa Ray, Rani Mukherjee and Harman Baweja will rub shoulders with George Clooney, Demi Moore, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and talk show queen Oprah Winfrey at this mega-film show. Other big Hollywood names include Nicolas Cage, Sir Ridley Scott, Drew Barrymore, Kevin Spacey, Michael Douglas, Penelope Cruz and Keanu Reeves.

It has been long now since Kareena Kapoor replaced Soha Ali Khan as the brand ambassador of the apparel retail chain Globus. Given the style diva status that Kareena holds in the industry, choosing Kareena for the promotion of the brand was a natural decision of the company.

Both Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty are the owners of the IPL teams. Both have been successful actresses on the big screen. So, it is but natural that there would be jealousy, bitching and cat-fights between the two but the kind of statements Preity gave in for Shilpa on the occasion of FICCI’s 10th anniversary celebration can be called least professional.
When asked about the Shilpa-Preity IPL competition, Preity said, “She is not going to play cricket.” She then added, “I own a team, I am an investor in the team, I am the chairperson of the team. It is very difficult for them to digest that I am the boss.”
Preity here supposedly forgot that even she is not going to play cricket and that Shilpa is the boss too of her IPL team Rajasthan Royals. Shetty girl was politically correct saying, “Our teams are in competition.”

Shah Rukh Khan And Salman Khan To Appear In DPL 04.09.2009
When Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan fell out during Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash last year, it was an outright war. It put the industry in an uncomfortable position, where people were forced to take sides. Very few managed the tightrope walk and maintained their relationship with both the warring Khans. Now, the possibility that the industry can breathe a sigh of relief is imminent as SRK and Salman will be seen on a reality show together.
The fallout over certain remarks about Salman’s ex-girlfriend, Aishwarya Rai, was very public and it led to the Khans taking potshots at each other at every given opportunity. Recently, Salman said that Shah Rukh used to be nice, but now is he is insecure. In the past, Salman has also claimed that SRK was jealous because his show, Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?, was a flop, while Dus Ka Dum was very popular. Salman also pooh-poohed SRK’s US detention ordeal recently. And these are just a few instances.

The reality show is called Dance Premier League and has participants from different zones battling it out with each other. Though the makers of the show are trying to keep the names of Bollywood participants under wraps, we have learned that SRK and Salman have already been approached to be part of this show.
Danish Khan, VP Marketing, Sony, says, “It’s too early to talk about specific stars. We have approached many actors and are still deciding on the names.” When asked about SRK and Salman specifically, he does not deny their involvement and says, “I can’t comment at this stage. It’s better if you wait for a formal announcement.”
But our source confirms, “SRK and Salman have been approached already. Katrina, Bipasha, Kareena and Prabhudeva will be the other participants in the show.”Katrina, though, denies it. She says, “I have not been approached for any reality show.”Though the channel might chooses to be tight-lipped about this new development, we are surely looking forward to the fireworks.

Priyanka Chopra is on an upswing with a hoard of awards which fell in her kitty last year. It was the uncooked chicken which had gained controversy in the Big Brother house and Jade Goody had famously dubbed Shilpa as “Shilpa Poppadom” when she was in the house.
Now, the Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty has launched a range of readymade gourmet meals in the U.K. Shilpa, who lives in Surrey with her fiancé, entrepreneur Raj Kundra, has acquired a 33 per cent stake in the V8 Gourmet Group. Her range to be developed by her jointly with master chef Andy Verma would be ‘Shilpa’s Gourmet Creations’ which will offer low fat chutneys, pickles and spices. The development of the range is expected to take about eight to six months time and so it will hit the U.K. market next year. Among others the range will also offer lamb, fish, chicken and vegetable dishes. The spice range will be organic.
When Shilpa was asked whether Poppadoms will be part of the range, Shilpa replied, “Poppadoms do show we have a sense of humour, we intend on giving them out for free. I do hope they are not called Shilpa’s Poppadoms.”

Kareena Kapoor’s last project, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’, though much hyped, had failed to set the cash registers ringing at the box office. So, the actress is now pinning her hopes on her forthcoming ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’ which will hit the silver screen this diwali on October 26. Kareena has Salman Khan and Sohail Khan as her co-stars and bubbly Preity Zinta will also be seen doing a cameo in the movie.
Directed by Prem Soni the movie is a comedy based on the extra marital affairs. This is a love story about a married couple Samir and Raina (Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor) whose marriage lacks warmth and love and it is here that a club worker (Sohail Khan) comes in, falls in love with the wife and subsequently has an affair with her.
